![]() As far as sports facilities go, the area is renowned for its 18-hole PGA championship golf course, which has a practice area, full length driving range, putting green and pavilion-style clubhouse. When not cycling or jogging around the village, Kings Hillians can enjoy regular yoga, pilates, badminton, martial arts and aerobics classes which take place at the Community Centre, and there are a number of local sports teams for enthusiasts to join. The thriving community will also have a David Lloyd gym within the village complex by this summer. Numerous other sports facilities are a short drive from the village, such as the dry ski slope in Chatham and the ice skating rink in Gillingham. For those who prefer their pastimes to be less physically demanding, a variety of other interests are catered for within the village. The Community Centre runs art, bridge and chess classes, and if you are seeking an academic challenge why not learn Spanish, interior design or take a computer course? A library van visits the area once a week, for local bookworms. Kings Hill also has a very active Parish Council. For the younger residents, Kings Hill has its own tiddlers and toddlers group, a pre-school nursery, two primary schools (for details of one of them, see www.kingshillschool.org.uk ) and a youth club is in the process of being established. We can provide you with an information pack including details of the schools and other amenities in this area. There are local scouts and girl guides groups and both Kings Hill schools run an array of after-school clubs and activities. The village also has a popular children's play area in the village green. Local areas of interest include the beautiful towns of West Malling and Royal Tunbridge Wells, the historic Dockyard at Chatham and Rochester's Castle and Cathedral, to name a few tourist attractions within a 10-30 minute drive. However, given the amenities which Kings Hill has to offer, you may choose to stay closer to home and sample the restaurants, cafes or Spitfire pub. Liberty Square is the hub of the village, where the large supermarket, shops and eateries can be found. There is a choice of cuisine: Italian, Indian and Chinese, to suit your mood. Liberty Square also has a beauticians, hairdressers, florists, pharmacy, recruitment company, and it is where our Café-style shop is based.
